Description
The Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, located to the northwest of the Roman street, was built in 1896 over the remains of a Byzantine church. The famous mosaic map is partially preserved as part of the church's floor. (Bikai. P. "Madaba: Cultural Heritage". 1996; p. 25) -- بنيت كنيسة القديس جريس للروم الأرثوذكس والواقعة الى الشمال الغربي من الشارع الروماني، في عام 1896 فوق بقايا الكنيسة البيزنطية. حيث توجد الخارطة الفسيفسائية المشهورة والمحفوظة نسبيا كجزء من أرضية الكنيسة.
