Description
On July 8, 2019, USAID SCHEP supported a lecture for tour guides at Petra with the goal of increasing their awareness of two areas within the broader archaeological site – the Temple of the Winged Lions (TWL) and the Petra Church. The lecture, which was conducted by ACOR Director Barbara A. Porter and Associate Director John D. M. Green, imparted significant background information on the two sites to an audience of 30, including representatives of the Department of Antiquities, the Petra Development & Tourism Region Authority, and USAID SCHEP, as well as independent scholars and tour guides.
